Town Charter Review Committee advances edits to Articles 5-8

DRACUT — The Town Charter Review Committee advanced edits to three charter articles while deferring a fourth. The committee voted to recommend changes to Article 6 specifying a seven-member Finance Committee with no majority from a single precinct, and to Article 7 removing gender references and adding a new town website subsection. Section 9 of Article 7 sparked discussion on language; two committee members will review prior charter versions before the next discussion.
Article 8, Transitional Provisions, was postponed for future review.
