DRACUT — Finance Committee approves request for FY2026 actuals through March, citing potential $1M interest income. Town Manager Kate Hodges presented the FY2027 budget of approximately $63.487 million for schools, deploying $7 million of $14 million free cash to supplement specific areas while preserving the town's ability to levy to the 2.5 percent maximum. The Massachusetts School Building Authority approved a nearly $83 million grant for the school project; the town will vote to adopt the grant June 1st and hold a debt-override election June 13th.
Members also learned that all Finance Committee volunteers are being removed as of June Town Meeting and may reapply.
