The Town of Dracut announced Oct. 17 that early voting for the Nov. 3 state election is underway at Dracut Town Hall, 62 Arlington Street.

Early voting continues through Oct. 30, with hours varying by day. Weekend sessions on Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Weekday hours range as early as 8 a.m. and as late as 6 p.m., with the final day, Oct. 30, ending at noon.

The deadline to register to vote in the election is Friday, Oct. 23, at 5 p.m. The Town Clerk's Office will be open that day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person registration. Residents may also register online through the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts website.

Voters can check whether their registration status is listed as active or inactive on the same state website. Those marked inactive remain eligible to vote but must complete additional forms and show identification matching their registration address at the polls, unless they sign and return a census form to the Town Clerk's Office beforehand.

Residents who want to vote by mail and have not already submitted an application for this year's elections must do so with the Town Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. The town noted that the U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing ballots at least a week before Election Day.

On Election Day, Nov. 3, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dracut has three polling locations covering 10 precincts: Precincts 1, 5 and 6A vote at the Senior Center, 951 Mammoth Road; Precincts 4 and 8 vote at the M.G. Parker Memorial Library, 28 Arlington St.; and Precincts 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 vote at Richardson Middle School, 1570 Lakeview Avenue.
