Community Preservation Committee approves prior minutes, reviews four preservation applications

DRACUT — The Community Preservation Committee approved five sets of prior minutes and heard presentations on four preservation applications. Chair Bill Greenwood and five members present heard Kent Varnum of the Dracut Historical Society request $500,000 to rehabilitate the Oliver Coburn Farmhouse and Harmony Hall; Tom Paquette present plans to convert the Dracut Grange Hall into a cultural center; and Alisen Purtell, Executive Director of the DHA, explain an exterior elevator project at Parker Avenue. The DHA withdrew its Stephen Szczepanel Manor application after securing another grant, and NMRHSO Community Housing Monitoring Funding was tabled to the March 17 meeting when the applicant can attend.
