Board of Health approves interim director and tobacco control agent.

DRACUT — The Dracut Board of Health unanimously authorized Interim Health Director Joanne Belanger and tobacco control agent Ron Beauregard to conduct business as agents through the remainder of fiscal year 2026. Belanger, working 15 to 18 hours per week on an initial three-month contract, is assisting in interviews for a permanent director and will establish a July schedule for annual board appointments. Public Health Nurse Kara Curley reported ongoing inspections of rental properties and enforcement at multiple residential locations, including a failed percolation test at 56 Gumpus Road where owners plan to sell.
The town will forgo its annual Hazardous Waste Day event due to funding constraints.
